I've waited eight years...

...to sit at home while my husband goes out with friends.

I'm not being sarcastic.  I really truly am thankful that I have a reason to sit at home tonight while Mark is out watching Batman with our friends.  And if you know me, you know this isn't typical.  I love being with friends.  I hate being alone.  And I would have loved to have seen an English movie in a movie theater tonight.  But for ten years we've been the couple that's always able to do anything in the evenings and go anywhere because we didn't have a reason not to. 

But now we have a reason to stay home.  And that reason has bright brown eyes, a smile that instantly turns on mine, and laughter that brings me SO much joy.  And she needs her momma's comfort when she wakes up crying.  And I'm so SO thankful I'm here to give it to her. 

Now, I'm going to go enjoy Chai tea and a Parents magazine...
