Two years ago, we gathered with dear friends to celebrate the life of our foster daughter (on this blog, we called her Bella). We played games and ate cake, but also had a special moment to pray and to surrender her life to the Lord, to His purposes and plans for her.
Bella, you are in our hearts forever and rarely far from our thoughts. We are so thankful for the godly family Jesus chose for you. We love seeing pictures of your beautiful face and sweet smile! Happy Birthday, little one! We love you.

Mark, Erika, Emma and Elsie:
Hoping that the joy of the Christmas Season is upon you We know you must be terribly busy with work, Christmas and caring for the kids. We read your last newsletter and are glad to hear that things are going well. I (Jeff), am fortunate to be on Christmas Shutdown from work. I took a few extra days to extend my break to 16 days ! ! ! I am filling the time with FAMILY – something I so often let slide for other “more important” reasons.
The gifts are wrapped and we are doing some last minute activities in preparation for “The Day”. A few last gifts are being purchased, cookies are being baked, and some meals are being planned for Christmas Eve and Day. We tromped through the woods on Saturday for a live tree. The farm was just down the road and they did all the hard work of cutting it down and driving it to our car. All we had to do was put it in the stand and even that went off without a hitch. The kids had a good time yesterday decorating. There are so many ornaments that you can’t even see the tree.
Our church is blessed to be concerned about exceeding the fire code so we are having three Christmas Eve services. We are opting for the 4:30pm service so that we – selfishly – can be home early for dinner and kids to bed early for a change. Christmas morning normally arrives with at least a 6:00am wakeup call from the young ones. After the unwrapping frenzy, we have make a “Birthday Cake for Jesus” to start the day along with some other breakfast goodies. The day is about remembrance and time with our “little” family. This tends to be a day with no travel and no one else coming over as they have their own traditions. We look forward to the day and the quite that comes with the excitement.
We pray that you Christmas Day is a joyful experience as well. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
